Internet Marketing – How To Find Your Niche

If you are thinking about starting a successful internet marketing business online, you will want to begin by getting involved in the right niche. A lot of folks mistakenly choose the wrong niche. They accidentally get into a market that either doesn’t make any money or is just not the right one for them. With this short article, I will show you the ropes on how to find the right niche market for you.

In recent years, Internet Marketing has grown. It has gotten to be even more profitable than anyone previously imagined it could. Its popularity has soared. For these reasons, the methods you would use to pick a money-making niche have changed. Once upon a time, the easiest way to locate a good niche was to look into “Niche popularity”. Of course, this is still true to some extent these days, but the way you will actually locate your niche is a bit different.

Just “going with your instincts and your gut feelings” will practically guarantee your failure. Of course, you’ll want to find a niche that you like and have some familiarity with. But the most important consideration is whether or not it will make you some money. After all, that is what business is all about! You don’t have to be Einstein to choose the right niche. The steps to finding the “Niche of your dreams” are simple and straightforward.

You will be happy to know that there are many free tools to help you in your quest for successful Internet Marketing. The first thing you will do is use some online research tools that will help you find your keywords for free! Wordtracker is an excellent tool with a free version available. Of course, Google also has a free Keyword Tool. I really like that one because it gets the results right from Google’s very own search engine.

After you have put together a good list of niches you might want to consider, look them up on Google. How many websites can you find for each of the sites on your list? For precise results, use the Keyword Efficiency Index for your niche. You will also see this called KEI. You can get your results by counting the number of sites competing for the niche you are considering. Then divide the number of monthly keyword searches by that number. A fairly high KEI would be about 50. If you get this sort of number then you will know that the niche you are considering will be a money maker.

Next find out how many competitors are listed on Google. You can make an estimate by doing a search of your “Keyword” by search engine. Be sure to type it just as you see it here – with quotes and capitalized. How many results do you get? If it seems like there are too many people already in that niche, you may want to make another choice.

A lot of folks get the wrong idea about Internet Marketing. They think that if there is a lot of competition, it will be more difficult to turn a profit. Actually, this just isn’t so. Of course, an overabundance of competition could be bad, but some competition just proves that there may be money to be had in that market. Be sure to get your share!

Finally, find out if there are a lot of buyers in the niche you have chosen. Think about it. Lots of people may look for ‘cars’ on the internet. Do you think a lot of people actually buy cars on the internet? They probably don’t. They are really just looking for reviews and pictures. They will do their buying in person. Make certain that the people who are searching the niche you are considering are actually buying its product online.
